Assemblies 2005/2006

Parents are always welcome to attend assemblies
(exceptions noted below). Mark your calendars. Talk to your children
about these assemblies. It should be an enriching year. Poetry Alive!: October 4 Poetry Alive! comes to Somerset to kickoff our
year-long focus on poetry. Poetry Alive! is a performance poetry
troupe with actors who have memorized hundreds of age appropriate poems,
from the poetry classics to the contemporary. Two actors will
present verse as theatre, transforming the poems into scripts and the
audience members into fellow actors. We will have three school
assemblies: K/1, 2/3 and 4/5. PSC "Rock and Roll" Van : February 6 & 7 Dig into dirt, hunt for fossils, explore and grow sparkling crystals, get blown away by volcanoes, and uncover the secrets of rocks and minerals. The Pacific Science Center's Rock and Roll Van will bring hands-on exhibits, earth science classroom lessons, as well as the "Volcanoes, Earthquakes and More!" assembly. We will have two school assemblies: K/2, 3/5.
